1st Annual Volunteer Appreciation Day at the Sumpter Fairgrounds on September 12, 2009

The Sumpter Chamber of Commerce accepted nominations from all the volunteer organizations located in our Sumpter Valley. Each organization was asked to nominate a member from their group that most fills the real meaning of.........."unselfish giving of their time and energy in support of our community and neighbors." Several note-worthy volnunteer nominations were read.......and the winner for 2009 is Joy Myers............ Each nomination included a letter of recommendation for each nominee which was read aloud. BBQ hamburgers, hotdogs, condiments and drinks were furnished by the Sumpter Chamber and the City of Sumpter. Everyone was invited and asked to bring a side dish and/or dessert.
